Hager early qualified as a gunner, and like all of the cannoneers, he had the selfcontrol, quickness of action and accuracy in thinking which distinguished all in serving the piece.
He participated in all of our activities and shared the perils of a cannoneer.
He was tall and of a hopeful disposition, and performed all the duties required of him in a soldierly and efficient manner. |
