PREFACE

The purpose of this book is to portray by word and picture the story of fifty years of service rendered by the Messiah Lutheran Church in carrying on the work of the Master. It is the hope of the staff in charge that this story of the work and effort of the pastors, organizations, and individuals who have made our church what it is today will be an inspiration for greater activity and service in the days to come.

This volume could not have been possible without the splendid cooperation of the members and friends of the congregation, the various organizations and committees.

Special thanks are due to the former pastors of the Messiah Lutheran Church for their willingness to contribute to the contents of

these pages.

DEDICATION

In appreciation of the efforts of the early pioneers and charter members of the Messiah Lutheran Church, who through personal sacrifice and keen interest in the work of the Kingdom, laid the foundations of this temple, and because of the courage and vision which was theirs, this book is respectfully dedicated to them.

GREETING

As the spire of this church reaches upwards into the heavens as a token of strength and the bells ring out a call of welcome, so the congregation of the Messiah Lutheran Church most cordially greets the three remaining charter members, whose photographs appear herein, the pioneers who are still with us in these days of rejoicing, the visiting Pastors who have served this Church faithfully, the confirmands, the delegates to the Superior Conference and Conference Brotherhood, and all our loyal friends.

We serve the same Master, we are moved by a common hope, and we rejoice in a common reward. May you be as happy in rejoicing with us during our golden jubilee as we are to have you in our midst.

Again, we greet you!
