Michigan Submitted Death Database

The success of this database depends on Michigan researchers.

Welcome to Michigan Death Indexing project that was started in June of 2000.  Michigan researchers come through!

We long thought that it would be great to have a place to search the deaths of Michigan. There was not one source for vital records in Michigan without going through the Vital Record Dept. at the state level.  To ask for a record through them you need to have a date and county and other vital information to get a record.  Many times you don't have this, so the Michigan Death Database was created.

Genealogists can use this database to submit their deaths and search the deaths that have been submitted.  Your contact information will be attached to the records you submit so others can contact you.

The information you submit will stay in this database with the contact information as yours.  This is a service that is being offered to those who use this site so that they may find others researching the same family names and have a way of contacting them and hopefully find an elusive record when you don't have a date or county.

The submissions are kept in this database to protect your submissions from people who scrub the internet for data and then try to call it their own, for a profit.
