Lookup Help for Midland County

We need YOUR help!  If you have any resources at home that you'd be willing to do some minor research in for those looking for ancestors in Midland County, would you be willing to donate your time?  The more lookup resources we have, the better off we all are!!  If you are interested, write   (Donna Hoff-Grambau) and let me know!  Midland Genealogical Society Volunteers work in the Midland Room at the Library five afternoons a week and do take email queries and lookup requests.  They will fulfill your lookup request for a small fee which covers postage and some of their time.  This is a fundraising effort for the Society.  They have many books at their fingertips as well as access to the Midland newspapers, birth, death and marriage records and some census records on microfilm.  Write to , our email contact, for help.

Gary and Helen Altman: are willing to do lookups for folks, such as going down to the Courthouse; library records at Grace A. Dow Library; physically checking cemeteries if the requester knows where it is; obituary lookups, etc.

Joan Brausch: Salt of the Earth, some census data, obituary index

Pat Worden:   Pontious, Burke, Berk Surnames

Charles Longsdorf:  Ellis, Mudd, Schmidt Surnames

:  Coleman 1880 and 1895 census information, "Coleman Area 1871-1971" ... includes Warren, Geneva, Wise and Denver Townships, and over 1300 surnames.  It also contains plat maps and lists the owners of the property.  Will also do lookups in Coleman High School year books from - 1952,1954,1955,1956,1957,1960,1961,1963,1965,1966, and 1967.  I would do look ups from these books with a full name and year graduated.  One request per email.

Jon Athey: is willing to do internet lookups on Ancestry.com, as well as local cemetery visits to take digital pictures of gravestones.  He is also willing to do internet census look-ups for Gladwin and Clare counties.
