Data Set By: Gary Miller

The Durant Roll is a census taken in 1907-1910 by the Dept. of Interior to make payment to the Indians in the Mackinac area. It included Indians from the Mackinac Band, Sault Ste. Marie Band, Grand River and Traverse Band. The information included in the Roll is a great help to the people in the area for finding Native American ancestors.

The reference numbers of persons listed on the Durant Roll have been incorporated into this data base. The reference number listed on the 1870 Census Roll, the 1907 Census Roll or the 1909 Supplemental Census Roll are included.
