Full ReportAccident 10 occurred on the 12th day of February at the Huron mine. Jacob AUTIA with three others jumped on an ascending skip filled with rock at the 17th level to ride up and agreed as follows: One was to jump off at the 4th level one at the 3rd one at the 2nd and one at the 1st. Three succeeded in jumping off all right but Jacob AUTIA in atempting (sic) to get off at the first level missed his footing and fell down the shaft a distance of six hundred feet resulting in instant death. An inquest was held before Justice PERREAULT the jry exonerating the Mining Company and its officers from all blame riding on a skip loaded with rock strictly forbidden.
